Andrew is pretty confident that the polar vortex will be making its return to the United States in about 10 days!

On Nov 25th it hit 61° and then snow fell the next day.
The next time it got to 60s was today hitting 62°and we're expecting snow tomorrow.

Cant wait for it to be in the 60s again. LOL

I am not impressed with the overall pattern with regard to arctic air compared to what we saw in November. It is looking a bit more El Nino influenced as I see more storms hitting California and warmer than average SSTs are migrating to the central basin. If El Nino does officially develop it will be a weak event, though.

Weak event El Nino's usually mean cold snowy winters for the Central and Eastern US. However, after this week, the pattern for the next 10 days or so, isn't all that encouraging for cold weather lovers....

K so last night it was literally around 45F. 24 hours later it dropped to 21F, good lord. No snow for a few days, but its pretty chilly. Probably wont see much snow till after I return from the tropics.

Ok this is bull ****. When I want below average temps (winter obviously), I get the longest above average forecast probably all year. Hope the model(s) that my local weather center is using will be incorrect

Huge December temperature turnaround ahead; coldest open in 118 years to give way to mild mid-month pattern | Chicago Weather Center: Skilling's Forecast and Chicago Severe Weather Alerts

So El Nino will last only one month?
