OH how horrible!!!  That would be an absolutely horrifying death and it's so sad that it happened just before Christmas. It's got to be so awful for his family.

Wow, I realize that many people enjoy skiing or snowmobiling, but the way this is starting out, it might be a good time to reconsider at least the area you go to.

Sorry, I can't find a link to it right now, but our local news reported today that a man from Miller, So. Dak. was buried in an avalanche in Wyo. There were a group of people and four (?) of them were buried, but the others came to the rescue. Unfortunately, they didn't get one of the people out in time.

Another snow fatality. In No. Dak. two men were trying to clear the roof of snow and were buried in 8 to 10 foot snow that fell from the roof. They couldn't get one of the men out in time.
