In Chicago it was the coldest summer since records began to be kept. The high was 94, all-time high 105. Only four days have been above 90.

99F in Vancouver on July 1, 9 shy of the all time record of 108F in 2009.

Despite our overall cooler summers, we tend to see a yearly record high that is higher than what most cities east of the Mississippi get.

It is not uncommon for our hottest day of the year to occur in September. I would not be surprised at all if summer had something left in it.

We hit 98, and our record high is 105, so we were 7 degrees short.

We hit 34.6 C on 1 August, and our record is 36.1 C, so we are 1.5 C short.

11 F short. The max temp for 2014 is 98 F. The record is 109 F. This is the first time since 2003 that it hasn't reached 100 F.

This year the hottest day was on July 24 when the high for the day reached 116 degrees. The record high is 122 degrees. We came fairly close but not as close as last year.
