Default Wind - magnetic or true?

Wind- magnetic or true?
During a weather report on television, are they giving the wind direction in magnetic or true north?
The NOAA site I looked at today had a link explaining the little wind direction symbol, however it did not say if the barb was pointing magnetic north or true north.
I did drop them a note about it.
What north do you think they are referring to?

When Iím on the ground I think of wind direction in true north but when flying I think of it by magnetic north.

Cheers,
Aeroman

True north (or at least that's what used for aviation weather reports).

Just went back to the NOAA site. I don’t know if I missed it or they added it since I left them a message.
But it now says wind direction is “using 36 points of a compass.”
Now my question about the NOAA site has been answered. Its magnetic.

ATIS gives the wind direction in magnetic.
And I always thought that when I was talking to ATC they were giving me magnetic direction.

Now I would like to know if the weather person on television is giving it in true or magnetic?

Cheers,
Aeroman
