The past 30 years at Heathrow, number of occasions month was the warmest.

June: 1
July: 15
August: 14

There are several occasions where June wasn't the coldest summer month, though. In 2000, August was the warmest but June and July had identical averages.

Was July the coldest summer month sometimes in the last decades?

It was joint coldest with June in 2000, but it was never the coldest month outright.

Much like Kamloops, it is uncommon.

It's even less common than Kamloops. June is the coolest month 89% of the time, August is 9%, and July 2%. Since records began in 1907 in Penticton July has been the coldest summer month twice, 1986 and 1992.

Here's another one: Fort Simpson, NWT.

105 years of data, August is the most common month to be the coldest (54 times or 51% of the time). June is next at 50 times or 48%, and finally July has only ever been the coldest place one time, and that was in 1972.

Between 1985-2015.. each month as the warmest..

July: 14
August: 14
July and August tied: 3
June: 0

So for the past 30-31 years, June has been the coldest summer month all the time, while July and August have been the warmest the same, and neither have been the coldest.

June did have the warmest average maximum in 1993, however.
