Beja
2nd most southern district capital, in the middle of the Alentejo plains, at 38ºN, and 200 meters of altitude.

September landscape

Morbid curiosity, a county of this district had the highest suicide rate of any region of the world a couple of years ago, I blame the summer heat.
Alentejo - highest suicide rate in the world - The Portugal News

Records : 45.4ºC and -5.5ºC

Nothing special.

B-. Compared to my ideal climate, the winters are a little to cool for me, and the May to September period is far to dry. Other than that, everything else is fine... I'm guessing being in Portugal the sunshine levels are high?

Temperatures are generally good but the summer nights could be warmer, more humid and I prefer my rainy season in summer with thunderstorms. C+.

B for me. Temperatures are good, although too dry during summer.

Interesting looking town. Are there some sort of restrictions on house colour in towns like this, or are people just sticking with tradition.

A-, good solid Mediterranean climate. Peak summer maximums slightly too high , but this is offset by very agreeable minimums. Winters cooler than ideal as well, the rest is great.
