If I heard our local weather correctly, Rapid City had over a 50 degree temp drop a few hours ago. Geesh, imagine that in South Dakota!

It did Jammie, trust me. I was outside and went inside for about 30 minutes when I came back out it had dropped at least 20 degrees and the wind picked up drastically! Nightmare!

I agree. I'm in Philly metro now-its like there is no winter here (I am not complaining), most days its raining and in the 40's. Its snowed twice so far-I'm loving it because I have a minivan and it would really stink to hafta dig it outta the snow. And I just moved from San Diego so I kinda forgot what winter is like.

Well, your nightmare hit us here a few hours later. We were over in Sx. Falls this morning and walked past a weather report and it said the windchill over here was 29 below.

OK, can someone refresh my memory? I know that Dan posted the answer several months ago about this. We had a HUGE temp drop back in the 30s or sometime. It was something like 100 degree drop in just a few minutes.

Yea, you guys get some rough weather over there, too. You do have the advantage of getting a lot of days with temps well above ours.
Dx, thank you so much for that info. That is an unbelievable drop in 15 minutes. Can you imagine how those poor people with arthritis were aching that day?
