Twin Falls and Idaho Falls have similar average highs to Chicago, but I'm going with Boise. It may be warmer in the winter than what I like, but their summer highs are good.

It was between Boise and Lewiston, but I chose Lewiston because of slightly warmer winters and cooler summers, and it's a tiny bit wetter. Both nice climates, though. Solid B

Coeur d'Alene, coolest, wettest, and snowiest.

I'd choose Coeur d'Alene too, although Idaho Falls is colder.

How the heck can Boise be colder in the winter!?? Boise is almost due south, and by quite a bit. It would be like if Madison, WI were warmer in the winter than Springfield, IL.

Id say Boise. I can't stand the long dreary winters up here in CDA.

Boise is about 2000 feet higher though, that will do it.

Good point, but elevation has a greater affect on summer than winter, so you'd think it would be the summers that would be cooler as well. Here is a comparison between two BC locations similarly distanced apart, with the southern one being 2000 ft higher. Winters are slightly warmer in the southern higher elevation location, but summers are much warmer in the north:
