How do you distinguish between high and low pressure? I think our summers are mostly high pressure.

Even here we have more high pressure than low pressure, though our average pressure is lowest in Oct-Dec.

Average air pressure in London.

What matters is the relative difference between air masses. Overall, hotter air has lower pressure than colder air; but it'd be silly to say our summer is dominated by low pressure because the overall average is highest in the winter (not sure if that's true, but the highest pressure events are from cold winter spells).

I think your summers are generally dominated by high pressure, though there's often a thermal low in the interior, the high is over the ocean.
