the peninsula has in fact seen temps near 17 F. Orlando has seen 18 F, Tampa has seen 18 F, even deerfield beach in Miami metro has seen 21 F. i dont know if you include Jacksonville, FL in the peninsula also, but they have seen 7 F.

That same band of clouds kept the high down however. Miami international airport registered a low of 55 and a high of 64.

A chilly day by Miami standards. I'm sure many were wearing jackets and sweatshirts.

Very unusual day for this time of year though. We usually only get this weather during the winter months.

I'm not so sure about that Deerfield Beach record low. Deerfield doesn't even have a weather station, closest is Pompano Beach (fairly new) with a record low of 34F. Further north, West Palm Beach record low is 27F. 21F at Deerfield Beach? Unlikely.

its very similar with us here too.

I remember when i first got here from my hometown, San Miguel El Alto, a town in the Mexican highlands in Jalisco that dips into 30s usually at night in winter, and when i arrived here, on a January I remember that the temps on the first days were in the 50s and low 60s in the day with drizzle and everybody was wearing heavy clothing and dressed as if it were to snow, i thought it was pretty funny since when we woke up at 6 to milk the cows the temps were in the 30s and all we wore was a jacket, pants and drank a warm glass of "freshly milked" milk (no scarfs, beanies, 2 coats etc.)

but now i cant even see temps below 60 without me rushing for a sweater.
