Couple pics of the Italian Alps from Padania I forgot to post...

Mountain is 3,840 m / 12,600' high:

One of those rare days when the lack of fog/haze/low clouds/pollution allows for a nice view on the mountains.

City shots from Bologna
Spoiler

They were going to build a basilica, but halfway in the construction they changed their mind and decided to erect a giant barn:

I'm surprised the river isn't smoking given the frigid temps!

Today here is snowing!

This is a photo of my garden I took a couple of hours ago (I live in Val Susa, an alpine valley near Turin, at an altitude of 600m)

This is the first snow of this winter for us! The owners of the ski resorts in the highest part of the Valley will be happy, because they will finally manage to open their plants.

There's about 10cm of snow here, which has only marginally melted with today's 1 degree high.

We didn't get any snow at all here, which was strange as pretty much all of Yorkshire had it.

Pretty. Reminds of the Fraser River valley of southwestern BC, except the mountains are much taller. Is the last mountain 12,000 feet high too?

^^ We don't have those skies often here! Is your last shot from the High Line?

The first mountain is very tall, but the others are comparable to those surrounding the Fraser valley. The last mountain isn't even 8,000 ft tall. It's also much closer to when I was standing.

I took a pic of the other side of the 12,000 ft+ mountain this autumn:
