November has been extremely warm. It's the warmest November on record and the fourth warmest on record month this year, after January, February and October!
Also rainy and dull, with mild night temperatures.
Rimini-Miramare airport data (comparison with 1971-2000 averages):
Average high: 16.8°C (+4.0°C)
Average mean: 13.8°C (+4.8°C)
Average low: 10.9°C (+5.8°C)
Rainfall: 84 mm (+17 mm)
Rainy days >1 mm: 9 (+2 days)
Mean relative humidity: 89%
Neither is temperature variation, looking at the monthly record vs average. I assume you made a typo in the post calling it "September 2014"? Judging by your photos, the local flora must tolerant to long periods without rain, landscape looked rather green even in the October photos you posted. Or was the first rains of autumn enough to restart them?
Yeah the yearly range is quite narrow. A yearly range below 30°C wouldn't be possible in Paris, and most years it would be above 40°C. I don't think anything turns brown apart from grass. Plants here are adapted to dry summers, unless imported and irrigated.

That figure of 563mm is extremely impressive. Also impressive is that sunshine hours remained relatively high given such a high rainfall. Tropical climates with heavy monsoon months would barely do any better or even noticeably worse (Bombay - same rainfall amount in Aug; but 76 hours), while this is at 43°N in one of the months with least daylight.
This might end up being one of the wettest year on records, given how Jan and Feb have been wet as well - though all the other months were below average, bar July.
I'll have to check if it's the wettest month ever. Like you, I think so. The previous record was set in October IIRC. Lucky me.
Nearby Genoa received 730 mm, after October's 758 mm in 4 days. Whacky totals there. Also 400 mm+ today near Perpignan, after the 500-ish mm daily totals in Corsica last Saturday.

I was referring more to the range in a month. The warmest temperature in your November was only 3°C warmer than the average high; coldest, only 5°C colder. I'm surprised there are no flooding problems there.
Yup it would use more variability. But the abundant rainfall was "interesting" enough. 1 additional inch today.
As for floodings, there weren't much here as there is little flat land, but other places along the Mediterranean have been hit badly. I've seen torrent-like streets once though.
November has been extremely bleak but at least warmer than average.
Freiburg data (comparison with 1990-2013 averages):
Average high: 11.2°C (+1.9°C)
Average mean: 8.1°C (+1.4°C)
Average low: 5.0°C (+0.9°C)
Rainfall: 79 mm (+6.5 mm)
Mean temperature: 0°C
Average maximum: 3°C
Average minimum: -2°C
Highest temperature: 15°C
Lowest temperature: -11°C
Highest minimum: 6°C
Lowest maximum: -6°C
Precipitation: 8.13 mm
Average wind speed: 14 km/h
Maximum wind speed: 32 km/h
November was warmer and drier than average in Trondheim. There are now 20 consecutive months warmer than normal.
The mean was 3.1c warmer than the old 61-90 normal.
Precipitation was only 22 % of normal.
For Norway as a whole, November was 2.4c warmer than normal (1961-90).
I have taken time to make a weather box for 2014 There are no data for sunhours here, so I have used the monthly mean cloudiness (0 = clear, 8 = full overcast, November had a mean of 2.6 and 13 clear weather days) to give a percentage of possible sunhours. Of course, the extreme seasonal variation in daylight hours must be taken into account. July must have had a lot of sunshine hours (what's the theoretical max sunshine hours?), and haze etc are very rare here.
When looking at this year here, the difference from January to February are unusual large, and the difference from the cloudy and poor June to the exellent July is just crazy.
Also, a very dry year for Trondheim so far, with only about 480 mm precipitation after 11 months.
Trondheim-Voll (127 m), November:
Monthly mean: 3.4c (+2.9c)
Avg daily high: 6c
Avg daily low: 0.7c
Abs high: 11.4c
Abs low: -6.8c
Precipitation: 10.4 mm (15 %) Very dry
Precipitation days => 1 mm: 5 days
Ice - days: 1 (high colder than 0c)
Sula village and island (coast)
Montly mean: 7c (no normal)
Abs high: 12.8c
Abs low: 2.2c
I might give a coverage of Norway and the largest cities if I have time. November was warm in the south (Bergen mean 7.3c and last air frost back in February) and middle areas, slighly warmer in northern area except colder than normal inland Finnmark.

The precipitation for Nice in November is larger than we have had for the 11 months of 2014.... and the precipitation in Genoa is almost unreal. Has made me rethink what I thought I knew about the climate of the Southern France and nearby areas in Italy.
Still, sunhours not too bad in Nice...impressive.

How was November up there in Paris?
Confirmed for wettest month ever, +25% vs. the previous record holder (October 1992 with 419mm)
November was remarkably mild in Paris (8.3/13°C) but other than that, completely uneventful in itself aside from the all-time record high record broken on the 1st (21.4°C) - a superb day. The rest was mostly cloudy to overcast conditions with limbo temps, with occasional light rain and fog. A true oceanic borefest
****'s starting to get serious though, with temps barely cracking 4°C at the warmest of the day today with extremely dark and low clouds and chilly winds. First frosts should start popping in more rural areas within the week; I doubt central Paris will dip below 0°C for now. Wednesday's forecast is -1/1°C to 1/2°C depending on the areas. (According to meteo paris). AT LEAST a 1°C max is interesting somehow to me. (Rather than some stupid 5/10°C crap).
Anyway, back to Nisssssssssssa in a couple of weeks
