They are gonna get hammered. Man I would love to have a snowy evening/night again. Daytime snow is special but something about snow when it's not daylight.

The current setup

1. It's below freezing above 3000 feet now in those areas in blue. Hence the snow falling at lower levels in spots

2. +18C at 4500 feet over Western PA and NY right now. NUTS. No wonder why Rochester hit 90s and sun too.

3. That Upper Level Low in the SouthWest (yet Again) will move in direction of my arrow and finally squash down the Eastern Ridge! PHEW! SouthEast might still have Summer temps (haven't checked in detail)

4. Summer in Northeast/Mid Atlantic for next 3 days.

5. Models now showing Northeast with 5 days of normalcy Wed-Sunday (not 2). Then Summer comes back Monday 18th.

The view to our north (left to right - Mt Clay, Jefferson, Adams, and Madison) is a bit hazy morning due to the southwesterly flow currently in place. This flow will continue to keep temperatures well above normal today. A warm front will also bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms later today.

SW flow in the White Mountains. 72°F at the base of the mountain this afternoon, 56°F at the summit. Trail conditions report ice, mud, standing and running water.

Another european record broken. Yesterday Catenanuova, Sicily, reached 41.9ºC wich is the highest temp recorded in Europe for May, beating the previous record of 41.7ºC in Andujar, Spain.

Interesting "tongue" of cold air from the Hudson Bay down to the SD/WY/NE area.

At least you see snow every year where you live. Imagine living in Miami.

Although I don't think I would want snow consistently in May, but a 2-foot snowstorm every once in a while for interest isn't too bad.

My ideal May is probably about 60/36, like a dry Boston April day perhaps.

Seems like recent years Denver is always snowing around Mother's Day.

Impressive!

Maybe a prelude to a hot summer in Southern Italy?

The city of Chicago's record max for May is 102F/38.9C re order on May 31st 1934. However in the suburbs on that day it reached 107F/41.7C. Chicago/Midway hit that's temperature the very next day on June 1st.

Wow. Haven't heard from my cousin who lives here but born there. I can't take his heat texts so maybe its better. Lol.

Max temps today. That 92 we saw earlier stands in Rochester.
