88 F (31 C) with a 70 F Dew Point, and a 94 F dew point (typical summer day in Philly, tom?). Weather is changing pretty drastically (by our standards) tonight, low of 59 F predicted.

No, Philadelphia is an arctic wasteland all year long. More like a typical summer day in London. Just ask B87.

That's good news. Looks like it was colder in higher spots. Below freezing in northern Gulf States. Tonight a bit colder or same.

Right now Widespread 20s in Tennessee. Snowing on Long Island, over the Atlantic, and here.

Looking like a winter type pattern in place.

Latest Euro.. Pacific Moisture taking the path of the black line. Euro has the clipper emerging off NJ Tuesday. Perfect for snow NYC north!

Then another one end of week but this digs more and cuts to Great Lakes. Snow for the UP, 2 day Warmup for East.

Then right after that Euro says bottom drops again next weekend. 510 Dam over this area. WOW

Latest Euro00z showing the ups and downs coming up. Lots of dependents past 5 days though.

Cold this weekend.
Warmup end of week (only because of that blizzard heading to Great Lakes)
Colder again next weekend?

This is what you call "amplified pattern". A typical Winter type pattern.

Instead of the Jet Stream being flatter this time of year or staying in Canada more, it's digging down to the south because the Polar Vortex is coming back to Canada instead of Europe.., then a big storm lifts the Jet Stream up to Quebec, then digs down again once that storm passes.

I call this "The Bleed Down". Right from the Arctic.

The -10°C line at 850mb is the Furthest South over the U.S for the entire Northern Hemisphere.

Cold air mass (not historic though). It hit freezing above Jacksonville Florida.

Southern Europe will probably see the first 30C and 90F this week.

Seville forecast to see 32C/90F midweek which is quite early I would imagine..

Madrid at 26C midweek, Riviera and most of the Med in the low to mid 20s whilst western Europe remains cool
