Seeing as the winter and Autumn threads were opened long ago at the start of September and June respectively, I think it's only fair that those of us who despise winter and cold weather get the chance to somehow keep our sanity by discussing the upcoming Spring.

I personally cannot wait for March 1st. Although statistically it is about the same as November; the daylight is longer, the sun is stronger, and there is potential for warm days. Trees and plants start growing again, and I stop feeling depressed about the weather outside

Recent Springs here have varied greatly.

Spring 2014 here was very mild except for May and carried on the theme from last winter, with some great spells of weather and sunshine.

Spring 2013 was terrible and the coldest for more than 50 years, definitely do not want a repeat of that.

Spring 2012 was mixed. March was great:

April was poor, May ended up around average and we got some decent weather at the end of the month:

Spring 2011 was also a mild one, with a record breaking April. One of the best Spring months I have ever seen.

Here's to another warm, sunny and dry Spring

i'm waiting for that dat day HERE at 0.6n also.
Unlike right now which has later sunrises day to day, March has earlier sunrises day to day. And more sunshine hours especially the morning hours are welcome. Hope no slash-and-burn caused haze pollutions like this years march that made pitch dark till civil dawn even in cloudless sky.

Of course you're waiting that time. because has later sunset, and also later day to day, unlike fall.

It will be interesting to see how this El Nino weather plays out. I am just about sure that it will not be another wash-out like last year with temperatures regionally being colder than normal. I think it will be mostly normal or slightly above which is what I would like. El Nino is often thought to spur much more active weather in the US which is something that I look forward to.

Spring 2013 was a nightmare! March had various January-like days with cold temperatures, wind and rain.
In early April Europe north of the Alps was under arctic air, just like in mid winter!
Finally some warmth arrived in mid April, but May was a real joke again. It rained almost every single day with cool temperatures. The icing on the cake was a grotesque wintry cold snap on May 25th with snow at 1000 metres! Ridicolous. That was a very bad spring.

17th: 12.6C/6.7C with 0.7 hours of sunshine
23rd: 11.7C/5.7C somehow managed nearly 6 hours of sunshine!
24th: 9.9C/5.5C with 0.2 hours of sunshine
28th: 12C/9.7C with 0 hours of sunshine
29th: 13.2C/7.5C with 1.1 hours of sunshine

March 2013 was Heathrow's coldest on record, colder than an average January! I never want to see that again.

May 2012 was on course to be the coldest on record, but the last 10 days in the high 20s brought the final figure back to average.

My ideal spring would include March 1938 (average highs of 15.1 in Oxford, so Heathrow would've be around 16c), April 2011, May 1989 (average high 21.1c, 310 hours sun).

May 2013 was one of the warmest in history here, but March and April absolutely terrible.

Hope March 2015 will be like this year, April like April 1990, and May like last year.

We've had some decent March and Aprils in recent years, but it has been a while since we had a good May, hopefully that will change for here. We seem to be in a run of having warmer Septembers and Octobers; a few recent Septembers have been a continuation of summer, so if we can get a warm May then that would be great
