Which would feel more comfortable to you?

A) Cool or cold weather with strong sun means that the temperature would be around 12C-16C (53F - 60F) with the UV index at 10 or up. High altitude places and those that have cold fronts in their summer would experience this.

B) Hot weather, weak sun, with temps around 35C (95) and the UV index at 5 or 6. I'm guessing northern Europe and Canada would experience such combos.

Both have their pros and cons; In cold weather you'd crave for stronger sun (like myself) and in hot weather you'd want the sun to be less intense since the air is already hot (for tanners, this wouldn't be the ideal option...Lol).

We just experienced option A in Sydney today. It was a windy 20C day (with a windchill), but the sun was pleasantly strong. So it didn't feel that cold in the sun.

Hmm, probably option A but the temperature contrast between the two scenarios is too much. 35 C is too hot for most people, regardless of sunshine. If you rephrased option B to have temperatures in the 25 to 30 range, that would make the decision more difficult.

It depends on what I'd be doing.... if I was lying on a beach option B would be better but for just going out and about provided I had a jacket, I think option A would be fine as well.

Option A definitely. 35°C is too hot anyway is it sunny or not.

20 isn't cold even in overcast conditions, IMO. But yeah, option A for me.

a) with somewhat colder temperatures is nice skiing weather. Earlier in the year I was pretty toasty warm up the chairlift at -4C on a sunny day. Wind is key though - a windchill can make it suck.

I'd really some like of b) now, though. This "summer" so far in Christchurch, NZ has had a lot of days only reach the lows teens with overcast skies. Still doesn't stop the UV index from reaching the "Very high" threshold.

Option A. 35C is too hot regradless of sunshine.

I chose B thinking that cold weather would be about 0c.

After reading through the first post, I change my vote to B because 12-16c is a very comfortable temperature, especially with strong sunshine.
