Awful aftermath, downed power lines in a few places, lots of tree limb damage and tons of trash blown all over the street. It looks a bit like one of the islands after a major storm goes through. Surprising a bit, since the winds weren't at a hurricane level, but California processes aren't built for major storms.

A major problem is our trash and recycling can systems out here rely on a truck dumping the cans into the rear processor. It requires standard plastic cans that the truck grabs with a mechanical control arm and then lifts and tilts. As a result, the lid is very flimsy, and a good wind blows it open and tips it over.

Cloudy in the Coachella Valley today.

Last night I went to a dance in Riverside. I knew it would be cold, but I didn't think it would be raining, so I took the hat off my coat because I was sure I wasn't going to need it!

Once I got to Cabazon it was super windy, then it rained all the way into Riverside. I had to run into the ballroom so the rain wouldn't mess up my 'do! I really could have used that hat!!!

So tonight I'm going to a dance in Loma Linda. I'm attaching my hat back to my coat!!!
