Doesn't change the fact that we've seen, over the years, the gradual decline of the Cold Epoch, the effects manifesting as shorter, and shorter winters, with temps less and less potent. Eventually, the Cold Epoch will vanish for good, and the Eastern US will return back to its more natural, stable climate.
Look no further than the fact that in the decades of the early to mid 20th century, even zone 8 plants had trouble lasting for some time on the Gulf Coast. Starting from the 90s onward, the Cold Epoch wore away to the point that bougainvillea, hibiscus, ixora, queen palms, etc, became ubiquitous in the landscaping on the Gulf Coast. Even tropical crops like mangoes, bananas, and papayas are recommended crops in the region, when just a few decades ago, they would be unthinkable.
