Thanks much for these links! I expect my bookmarks folder dedicated to meteo/climo to explode at some point, at this rate.

Lol, yeah, each winter my winter folder keeps getting bigger . Lol

Look how far south the cold made it. Even a bit below the bottom of the trough/jet

We never made it above 23 today. That absolutely destroys our previous daily record low max of 31.
The funny thing is, we were only supposed to hit 18, so this was warmer than expected.

It's currently 15 with a wind chill of 4. Accuweather says we'll get down to -2; I'd be shocked if that happens. That's once every 50 year cold for here.

When do you look at stats? After the fact? During the fact? Before the fact? Seems like after the fact isn't coming. Relentless.

Northern CT Hartford average temp this month 15.9°.

Should be lower after today and tomorrow.

Coldest month since 1905 is 16.5° in Feb 1934.

Witnessing history and not just one spot which makes this amazing

We're polar opposites living in the same climate. I'm at my laziest in the winter, because it's so uncomfortable. I hate being trapped indoors, so it is depressing.

Good point, thought about the crops the other day but slipped my mind today with everything that's going on.

11pm Northeast closeup Temps with IR Satellite using Visible Color Table to show where the clearer skies are. Northern CT has some clouds, southern doesn't including NYC.

25-35 below normal temps region wide. 9 times in the single digits now here. I'm lucky to get 2 a year in January.
