Beautiful, gorgeous morning. 0F right now. It hit -1F earlier this morning.

Islip (ISP) only dropped to 3F. It broke the old record of 17F lol. My PWS always seems more consistent with Shirley Airport (KHWV), which dropped to -2F. FOK is again the bright spot on LI with a morning low of -9F.

Temps. I see Florida is just indifferent to the rest of the country. They're missing out!

Rain is mixing back in with the snow now :/ It's one degree below freezing, so it's at least freezing to the branches a bit.

Doesn't the border suck? lol As suspected you'll be going back and forth with PType until either atmosphere cools or warms completely or precip is done.

Current SouthEast Radar, Metars and 850mb temps.

Freezing line at 4500' cutting right across and you can see why it's snow/mix in Atlanta. Right on the border. This level is so key for PType and surface temp. I never understood why more meterologists don't mention it.

Mountains getting some snowpacking.

As always you can see the 850mb temps here!

Ridge has shifted "west" more and so more folks in the U.S involved in the Cold Airmass.

"So, why did winter suddenly return to Utah? Blame the pattern change!"

Icy mess here in Midtown. Will all melt by the afternoon though. No accumulation.

What do you mean by "icy mess"? Did you not see any actual snow? Or was just a bit of freezing rain? We got about a half inch here, enough to make it look pretty. It'll melt by lunchtime, I'm sure.

The entree should be served up tomorrow - let's keep our fingers crossed.

Here in Athens, we had "unknown precipitation" last hour.

Looked to me like a mixture of snow and sleet, but whatever.

In the downtown area, we got just rain. But I'm hearing that there was a bit of snow/sleet from friends in the Buckhead area (north of midtown Atlanta, but still in the city limits for those who don't know the area.) Really cool to see such a difference in weather only a few miles apart! Personally, really happy we got just rain at my house...hoping for the same result tomorrow night. This is the third time they've forecasted snow/ice and we've ended up with just rain, so let's go for number 4!

I'm also in midtown now...all I have seen is rain. I checked the branches to see if any was frozen, and it was all just wet. You sure it's an icy mess?
