Not surprising, Mt. Washington has gotten snow in July. But I doubt it's ever had an ice day in July. Temperature even on the coldest summer day should break 32.
Yes, I know.. I've flown over Maine I know that it's big.. But the summer temps are equally distributed across the state so there's nothing wrong with using Portland as an example.
Snow in July in Maine would be extremely hard to come by.. The air would be sourced in Labrador/Quebec.. Both places warm up to between 15-25c in the summer so snow is not going to form there.
Actually Portland has slightly cooler summer than most of inland Maine by afternoon highs. Nightly lows are warm though
