How people manage to live in this literal version of "hell freezing over" every winter never ceases to amaze me; when do you think they will see their and first and last-40 readings for the winter?

First above freezing temperature in Cambridge Bay usually happens in May. It's been in June before, as recently as 2010. Never been before May 7 (records since 1977).
How long was the summer freeze-free period there this year?
Edit: July 31st - August 22nd. If you only count "hard freezes" (by which I mean -4C or lower), it was May 29th - August 30th.
