Record cool in Newfoundland

"Over 45-degree difference this afternoon between mid-90s (100+ heat indexes) DC to NYC (hottest of year) & record cool 50F in Newfoundland!"

I've been doing some research on traveling to far nothern Quebec and Labrador, for when I'm able to move up north. It's a real adventure, it looks like - dirt roads and zero services for 100's of kilometers. I almost get the feeling they don't want cold-lovers to make the trip up there. Flying is terribly expensive, too - might as well as fly to Europe - it'd cost the same.

I just need to invest in a solid Jeep Wrangler and some camping gear, so I can go anyway...lol.

I can fly there for £300 return with Westjet.

It's only a four hour flight from here.

This looks like a tall structure based on the colors of the clouds here. Also, must be a cool site from the East of where that edge is
I sure wish I could get under that bad boy. We haven't had a good rock 'n roll t-storm all year. Easy to see why, the north's taken them all.

Its funny cause i know theres a climate I would much prefer and its not that far from me. Like you said eastern Canada may be it. Awesome to see ice still around. Had to have figured with the intense cold we had and ice as far south as Delaware. Those areas up north got to thicken up much more.

Interesing about the flights there. And yeah, something tells me compact cars arent the thing to use.

Thunderstorm appears to have weakened somewhat and moved northward. Might get some rain, but nothing that big. Oh well.

Was just about to say... Did the hills destroy it? Gone. Looks like part of it merged with the cell to the north of it. Maybe the air sank too much because the atmosphere was rising with the Bennington storm.

Anyway. Looks like your clear for a warm evening Bike ride. Still 85° here

Tuesday morning is when we drop to 50s. Thank the Lord we get these breaks. Bounce to 60s mid week then 50s again end of week.
