Thursday? Today's Saturday. Felt like it was in mid 50s out this morning. Nice clear and no valley fog.

This thread has among the most views of any on the front page, except for those "what is your temperature / forecast" type threads that have been around for years.

As for the map, looks like New England is similar to Mediterranean Europe and parts of Central Europe. Eastern Europe is more similar than western Europe.

Looks like southern Sweden is even less lightning-prone than here.

.
This thread was started in March. Most of the views comes from the same people clicking it mutliple times a day such as me.

The general chat thread has 11,000 views in 1 week. That should tell you 2 things about this thread.

Considering that we are basically thunderstorm free for 5-6 months out of the year, I would say the Midwest is exceptional when it comes to lightning.

Btw, the Euro is absolutely soaking the East Coast (and Florida)

Looks like we're awfully close to the edge of the screw zone there.

What we really need is a very large and messy Cat 3 to come straight north from the FL panhandle and spin out over north Georgia - for a whole week. That'll keep us wet enough until the winter storm track kicks in.
