For temperatures...abnormally cool midweek values will be a nice Reward
after getting through the early period system. Wednesday night
should dip into the low to middle 60s for much of north Georgia. Middle to
late week highs should stay in middle to upper 80s for many
locations
Could this be the beginning of the end? That the reign of terrible heat might be drawing to a close? Keeping my fingers crossed.
Not much rain being shown. Monday some rain for you. Dewpoints in the 70s today and tomorrow then more 60s being shown. Actually 50s Wednesday to Saturday.
This is based off the latest Euro

Perhaps increasing later?
The end of the 10-day forecast, dubious as it may be, shows us around 90º with lows in the mid 60s and sunny. That does not sound like the type of pattern I want.
Excessive Heat Warnings in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. They extend all the way down to the Gulf coast. Heat indicies may approach 115 F/46 C.
Currently a toasty 94 F/34 C in New Orleans with a dewpoint of 76 F/24 C and heat index of 107 F/42 C. Forecast low of 83 F/28 C. No lows below 80 F/27 C in the forecast.
Brutal in Baton Rouge: 96 F/36 C, dewpoint 75 F/24 C, heat index 108 F/42 C. Nasty forecast: National Weather Service

Speaking of ..........
Hudson Bay still has Ice on it and the waters are COLD! When you stop and think about the length of time for the warm/cold fluctuations of water it's pretty interesting.
2013 Hudson Bay started freezing early, then stayed cold through spring until warming up by Summer but the waters were still cold which helped it to become frozen solid earlier than normal last year.
Then it became thick with some historic cold so its not going to melt and warm up fast so there might not be enough time eventually years later for it all to completely melt or warm up so it's easier to freeze up early again and thicken.
Does the Hudson Bay have much of an impact on our weather?

That's hard to believe. I guess the heat island effect is strong in New Orleans.
The record warmest low here is 81F. Last night the low was 79F.

Might be a new record low tonight in New Orleans. The current record for August 10th is 80 F/27 C in 2011.
Most record lows are around 80 F/27 C.
