I saw where the Jackson, Mississippi airport has only received 0.51 inches of rain since July 6th.

Almost missed this one... From NWS Buffalo August 19th 4 days before todays Anomalous storm over Minnesota..

Wha?? I knew my interest level was higher than normal.

Man I hope these continue into Fall and Winter.. You guys will get sick of seeing me post. LMAO!

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY
131 PM EDT WED AUG 19 2015

A DEEPLY STACKED HIGHLY ANOMALOUS FALL LIKE STORM SYSTEM OVER THE
UPPER GREAT LAKES AT THE START OF THIS PERIOD WILL BE THE MAIN
CONCERN FOR THIS FORECAST PACKAGE. THIS ATYPICAL SYNOPTIC FEATURE
WILL INCLUDE MANY PARAMETERS THAT WILL HAVE SEASONALLY ADJUSTED
ANOMALIES OF 3 TO 5 STD...WHICH CLIMATOLOGICALLY TRANSLATES INTO A
ONCE IN A GENERATION STORM SYSTEM. SOME OF THESE ELEMENTS WILL BE
FURTHER DISCUSSED BELOW...BUT THE ULTIMATE CONCERN IS THAT ALL OF
THE SIGNALS WILL BE THERE FOR A SIGNIFICANT CONVECTIVE RAIN EVENT
OVER WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEW YORK.

Those storms are marching across central Georgia at a pretty good pace right now and will probably hit me later this afternoon.

Lol at that drought map you posted a while back that showed Georgia getting worse. I really am questioning the legitimacy of those maps. I've already got 5 inches in August alone.

I'm thinking that they aren't that reliable either. The drought monitor maps weren't predicting the drought areas that developed over east Texas & bordering areas during July & August.

Also, last year the drought outlook was showing drought expansion in Louisiana for the summer but it ended up being a wet especially in the southern part of the state. Lake Charles had it's wettest summer on record.

Big Cumulonimbus billow of cloud there in central GA. Warning issued for Swainsboro and Lewisville. Enjoy your partly cloudy skies there for now. I see a stray shower popped up north of you

You should start see the leading edge of this complex soon. Might look cool

Just heard thunder. Second storm of the day, albeit weak like the first one. It's already quite dark before 8 pm. No doubt, summer is on its way out.

Nice storm cloud shot from Provence:

Current temps and flow.. Eastern folks can relate from last winter.. Another Upper Low in Minnesota and on the West side of that what do you have? Direct N/NW flow.. All the cold air coming spewing down.
I see a couple of 20s in Saskatchewan, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado. I wonder if the windchills are even lower.
