I'd take sizzling heat over hazardous severe thunderstorm that I experienced last Tuesday, it was the worst nightmare ever.
When it rains I just need only raining like PNW region have without any thunderstorm/lightning activities.

South Carolina will be broiling

As this system makes it's way to Texas in the coming days, it will force more tropical air into the Central US. It's going to be one of those summers

I wonder if that will develop into a tropical storm.

Bastardi thinks it's very possible

This pattern reminds me of summer 2011

Nearly continuous rain for much of the morning here. Temperature hasn't made it past the mid 70's.

There was some thunder when it first started, but it has mostly just been steady light to moderate rain. I have 0.72 inches so far.

Since when did the south suburbs of Chicago turn into the tropics? It is quite muggy outside.

Storms on and off all week. High humidity too.

Hmm, it's not similar to 2011 here. That summer was very hot and had a severe drought. It already surpassed 100F in the first week of June in 2011.

I'm thinking this summer will be cooler and wetter than normal for the western Gulf coast.

I was thinking more in the Midwest. Let's see how this pattern evolves.

Check out the heat indecies and dew points across the metro area. LOL downtown Chicago "feels like" 18C, less than 10 miles inland at the airports the heat index is 31C at MDW, and I'm at 33C right now

How would you like mid-upper 90s with dewpoints in the 70s for 7 days straight in June? Here's Columbia, SC from GFS12z. And pretty much no rain

#Southeast Torch Will feel like triple digits next 7 days
