Nice! You liking those clouds? It's funny how I can be at the same temp as North Carolina with clouds. If I was in the clouds I'd still be near the same temp. lol It's not like it would be in the 50s today with clouds.

So.. Stating the obvious, the Jet stream just doesn't want to come south. So lets look at 4 images from the GFS..

Top Left: Current. Where is the 850mb freezing line? Barely see it. No real below normal cold or chill around.

Top Right: Friday and this weekend the Polar Jet will dive down and touch northern Maine. Looks like a clipper system riding alone it. Snow in Quebec somewhere?

Bottom Left: Wed Sept 30th. Horrible. 850mb freezing line just a narrow tounge dipping into the plains then just lifting up- and out into Canada after that not getting to the Mid West or New England.

Bottom Right: Sunday October 3rd. Ah Ha! Nice!!! HUGE cold air mass and notice that 1027 High Pressure coming down towards North Dakota.. That's a nice place to come down and push into the East with all the cold air. Plus look at the difference between then and previously. There's just no cold air mass around right now.

Bad news.. Last frame is long range and probably wont even happen. Cold air is building at the poles and northern Canada but doesn't want to drop south yet. IT CANT with a Ridge still strong in the U.S

I'm waiting to see the last frame more consistently!

Bridgeport the new hot spot of the Northeast? Their max of 73° today is 1 above normal. So Its still been since August 21st that we had a below normal day max. Only once since August 12th.

Global Warming in Sumter again. lol
