Lol, the air in Vancouver is by definition "Canadian air".
lol yes of course but technically the air in Vancouver is Pacific Ocean air, much more moist and mild than that terrible bone chilling parched dehydrated desiccated cold inland air that marches down to Asheville.
Asheville for being MUCH sunnier and having a good shot of late winter thunderstorms.
Vancouver is 9 months of cold overcast rain, mostly of the drizzly variety.
Vancouver without a doubt. cool, damp, moderated winters versus high variation with higher possibility for brutal, cold, dry Canadian air... no thanks. Asheville gets more Canadian air than Vancouver.

ha well don't ya know here its very easy to spot the georgia line, i can see it from my roof. birds chirping green trees oranges coconuts and then all of a sudden cold snow dead trees and grizzly bears.
its good to be in florida.
we recently passed a law to construct a huge wall with spikes to stop the influx of georgicans that try to cross the border when it gets cold. don't worry we aren't apathetic, we have such a surplus of resources in florida from the perpetual lush weather that we send aid and build shelters in southern georgia to help them cope with the brutal conditions. we feel bad for them.
Even tough i prefer stable winters, i vote prefer an Asheville winter since its more sunnier and also seems more snow than the average Vancouver winter. And with this in mind i can even take the odd 20°C+ high there.

Vancouver actually averages about 50% more snow per year than Asheville (38.1cm for Vancouver vs 25.1cm for Asheville).

Ouch thought Asheville was snowier since it seems to get wintry cold fronts with snow more often.
Also snowy days seem to be more in Vancouver than in Asheville on the second look.
Still i'm leaning towards my decision for the more sunshine hours and the sharper cold waves they can get in AV unlike Vancouver.
