It's not though. You can't get ice at that temp.

Normally for the eastern seaboard, yes. This winter (July onwards) has been colder than usual compared to the last few "warmer" winters. I much prefer Melbourne or Invercargill's humid and mostly cloudy/showery westerly weather, here it is often cold, dry and windy - makes for quite unpleasant conditions. I've lost count of the times I've shivered and walking outside with literally frozen hands even with gloves on is horrible...

Like I said before, its the icy westerly wind I'm talking about. Sydney would have a much more nicer climate if westerlies didn't exist!
T-shirt, shorts and thongs weather - yeah, pigs are flying to Uranus!

At the moment, the average is now 13.9°C due to a couple of cold days. The last time we had an average of 13.9°C in August was 1989, and 1978 was the last August colder than that with an average of 13.8°C.

The airport, which is closer to me, is sitting on 13.5°C.

^^^^The average maximum for August here, is 13.8C.

I agree about 10C feeling icy, although icy perhaps isn't the right term. Clear, dry conditions that have a lower RH than the average, produce a feeling at which chill in the air seems to become more obvious. It's quite an unpleasant sensation , compared to days where humidity is higher, and rain is about.

An extraordinary day today, with fog rolling in off the sea around mid afternoon and during warm and clear conditions. Probably something that happens once every 2-3 years,

August 2015 rainfall summary: sites across the Sydney Basin recorded rainfall below average in the north/north-west and around the airport/southern suburbs to average/above average in the west with the exception of Parramatta and surrounding areas, south-west and some coastal eastern suburbs locations.

The severe storm on the evening of the 24th delivered some very impressive falls in the space of half an hour with some sites recording as much as 50mm .

Trawled YouTube and found some impressive clips:
