In that original post you quoted I first wrote the year as 2012, but nah, that was memorable for the opposite reason

Bingley April 2011: 7.36 mm, 1 day over 1 mm, driest April on record
Bingley April 2012: 164.34 mm, 16 days over 1 mm, 3 days over 25 mm, wettest April on record

Yeah, it was an amazing contrast. April 2011 couldn't have been more opposite of April 2012 if it tried. We even had snow in April 2012.





Funny that both months showed a similar pattern.. but reversed. In April 2011 most of England was exceptionally dry except the NW. In April 2012, most of England was exceptionally wet except for the NW.

That 58 hrs of non-stop rainfall in June is crazy! That's more than the average number of rain hours for the whole of January (the wettest month by rain hours), and over double the average for the entire month of June!

Not like an ongoing streak, but Stockholm did not go above freezing the entire January 2010 - in spite of the 2002-2015 average high being 0.8...
