Default Warm front with freezing conditions = bad

I probably should've take a picture of what my car looked like. Essentially at around 5 this morning, a brief warm front swept through the atmosphere. The result was rain; not freezing rain.. just rain.

Well, the ground temperature was a good 19 Fahrenheit. The end result, my car looked like rain. Raindrops froze in their spot on my car. It was pretty nifty looking.

The bad part, is that the roads became a sheet of ice. Roads were closed, roads were blocked, cars in ditches. Well over 50 accidents in a mere 3 hours. However, school buses were still on those roads - swerving, bumping other vehichles, etc.

Needless to say, I was 20 minutes late to work. Isn't it funny what the weather will do?

Oh my, that sounds like it was a nice mess. I can just see the calamity on the roads.

What state do you live in? Sorry, I'm not familiar with the area that's listed on your posts.

I remember a stint like that crossing back into OH from KY once. Sitting stocl still vehicles, on a slight hill on the bridge, were sliding into one another. Talk about feeling helpless!
