It's not. If you don't understand the premise of this thread, why post in it?

If you read the OP, it's clear what the intentions of this thread were. I don't mind new posters on here, but I don't see the point of posting in a thread that you have no idea what the purpose of it is.

I wonder why the OP aimed Americans in his post?

Obviously Kansas is going to be hotter than Paris. Another reason it's a big deal is because a lot of places in France don't have AC. I would not want to be in 90 F without AC, let alone 101 F.
But the nights are much cooler in Paris; I'd rather be without A/C in 101°F in Paris than mid to upper 90s in Miami, the heat isn't going to build up much. I've managed upper 90s for a couple days because it always cools down eventually, though not that well in humidity but still better than Miami.

I don't agree with the premise of the thread as the heat wave hasn't happened yet — its severity might not be as bad as forecast. Or it could be worse. Assuming forecasts are correct, Toulouse will have five days with highs in the upper 90s and a few more in the mid 90s. Lower dew points (though I see mid 60s so it's not really a dry heat just not a steam bath) will take the edge off the heat compared to heat waves here, but high 90s is still high 90s. More than I'm used to, though nothing I haven't experienced here but it's lasting a while. Sounds tiring but manageable. Glad it's there and not here.

Of course the heat wave hasn't happened quite yet ( as it is forecast to be in early July) and I agree with you on that. However upper 90s for highs and low 70s/upper 60s for lows doesn't sound like a good alternative. Even right now, it's only 8 AM and it already feels unbearable outside. Without AC? Forget about it.

The mid-60s dew points might take the heat off it a bit, but we shouldn't underestimate the heat wave that's going to happen. Upper 90s aren't anything to be played with; regardless of where you're from. Of course anything sounds better than a hot South FL summer but it's still a pretty hot wave, even if it isn't as hot as we're used to.

We're forecasted to be in the mid-upper 90s this weekend with (obviously) upper 70s/low 80s lows. It's not exactly pleasant, even with acclimatization.

A lot of France's new citizens probably love the heat. They are more to worry about than the weather.

Anything above 72 degrees fahrenheit for traveling around in is unbearable for me. We were in Scotland for ten days and quite a few of those days were in the 70's. It was barely doable. Give me 65 degrees with short sleeves and a light jacket to take off if I need to and I'm a happy camper.

in our national forum back in 2011-12 there was a "bot bomb", many new users use posting bot program to boost their postcount to 2000 (minimal required for giving rep there) atleast it also boosted the "total posts" and "total members" of that forum... so the comments might be very OOT... up to 2 million new forum posts/day there at the peak...
