A 24 C low is a lot like the south. Y'all getting a good taste of the Carolina BBQ .

Not really. Nowhere in NC averages a low of 24 C in any month.

I hate those days.

I don't know how well-air-conditioned the houses are down in the South, but up here our air conditioning is pretty lame. In my house, it takes a good 25-30 min of running the AC just to get the indoor temp to drop one degree on those kind of nights. Can't even sleep when it happens.

Luckily for LI it's only 5-10 times per year.

28.9C here today, that's hotter than any day between 2006 and 2013 managed. A surprise as I was only expecting 25-26 at best, as we normally fall a good 3C short of the Metoffice/BBC forecasts which think most of England is in London.

Tomorrow may be hotter if they are accurate, but I'll believe it when I see it...
