No 90s in sight for Chicago or north of Philly. At least next 1-2 weeks. Anything past 10 days can change of course but this pattern cannot and does not support real heat or sustained heat.

The timing has to be impeccable with some crazy warm surge right before a front.

Here's latest data from GFS for Chicago ORD next 16 days.

Current temps, Satellite, Radar, Upper flow and Surface pressure. You cant get that heat to come up with an upper level low sitting there in Eastern Canada.

I'm surprised the base of the trough or front is even that far south still in the Mid Atlantic.

I'd love to be under that ULL. 3pm and in the 50s.

I would be happy with even 75 at this point! It was 46 (F) on Tuesday along the lake in northern Michigan. Brrrr! We could get close to 80 tomorrow, but that's likely inland, so...keep the flannel shirts out!

Crazy! The Vancouver area were the average high is only 72 degrees this time of year is currently on an 8 day streak of 30C/86F or higher. Currently 32C/90F, and is expecting to be more of the same tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. This is the longest streak of 30C since 1908.

0 although if i'm honest we could've reached it this week if the heatwave was a little further west. I got to 26c on Tuesday when the air was near me but it didn't go far enough north.

It only touched England which is no use to the vast majority of the British Isles. Maybe if we have another heatwave of that magnitude in a few weeks. Idk

Probably not though i'm sure England will reach 90 again as they'll probably have 10 more hot spells by September.. And as happened in this heatwave it will stick solidly to England.
