Pelee Island is what is known as a "Carolinian environment " meaning that it has certain vegetation and trees that are not found in other parts of Canada. It is also a stopping of point for migratory birds, in spring and again in fall.
It is the most southerly land in Canada, off the north coast of Lake Erie. It has a small year round population, who are mainly in agriculture, and wine making. There is a small fresh water fishing fleet that works the lake, for various types of fish that are sold locally, or are frozen and shipped to other locations.
It is a summer destination for tourists, and some retirees have bought homes there. The winter is milder than most other places in Canada, and they get a lot of summer sunshine. The down side is that the ferry in winter only runs 3 days of the week.
Solid B. Nice climate, still cold enough in winter but not excessively wet in the summer, unlike a lot of interior and eastern N America. No month has too many wet days either. Sun I'm guessing is adequate looking at nearby areas, and there's a decent amount of snow.
