Of course, the guy going fast is going to have a higher chance of dying. I don't think anyone is arguing that. Distracted driving causes more accidents than speed itself though. Even in accidents where someone was going say, 90 mph, they're not always the ones at fault, even if they are the ones that perished.
You're right that speed differentials cause accidents. Does speed itself? Sometimes, perhaps.

And I think some people seem to think the notion that speed kills is a joke, which is false. I'm disputing that.

Do you agree in the raising of said speed limits, when highway engineers have deemed it safe to do so? The increase in our urban expressway speed limits hasn't affected safety one bit. The only change, really, is that people are obeying the law instead of breaking it en masse.

Not saying all the current speed limits are necessarily the best ones. But that's how you draw the line.

No time to reply to everyone else now... Will do so later.

Speed kills too, but there's a lot of other factors involved in car accidents.

I'm not saying it's a joke. What I'm saying is, however, that in accidents where "speed" is the cause of death, the guy that was speeding isn't always the one who caused the accident.

Couldn't ****ing concentrate on my economics test since the entire college testing center was filled by noisy morons taking preschool math tests. Always shifting around in their seats and groaning about how hard it is. For **** sake, shut up. Took me twice as long as it usually would with all these idiots moaning.

I love it when people are taking like finite math, and complain about how hard it is and that "math sucks" lol.

Why are you taking an economics test before you start classes?

It was a summer class at a community college. That was the last exam. I got an A in the class.
