Well yeah but in most cases people are usually right about nationality. There is definitely a general American look and culture.
Some groups absorb it and others do not.
Any group can absorb it over time. It all depends how long you've been or how many generations you've spent here. You really have no idea what you're talking about. Physicality has NOTHING to do with American culture.
Why is the immigration debate so focused on Mexico and no other country?
What I find hypocritical is that, literally, the entire immigration debate is indeed centered on Mexico. Everybody complains about Mexicans, despite having a crime rate lower than native whites, and the safest major US city is around 90% Hispanic, with those Hispanics almost exclusively being of Mexican origin. Nevermind the fact that there are parts of major metro areas where everything is written in Chinese characters or Hangul (Korean script), but it's the Mexicans not assimilating. Nobody bothers anyone who is speaking Chinese in public, but dammit those Mexicans better not be speaking "Mexican" around me! There is a huge double standard when it comes to illegal immigration, with those opposed pay lip service to kicking illegal European and Asian immigrants when called to task. I think many on the right actually don't care that the Chinese are here, just as long as the Mexicans and Central Americans are booted out

I've seen complaints on the NYC forum about Asians and places where everything is an Asian language.

Under your logic 25% maybe more of the people I went to college with weren't Americans. That's just stupid.
