Someday I will move to Alaska or Northern Canada and I will smother all of the mild lovers and heat lovers on this forum with pictures and updates of pure unadulterated subarctic hell. I will continue to do this until I have converted all of you to the dark side. Then you will all decide to come join me in freezing to death for eight months out of the year in the middle of nowhere. Ha!

And I have no choice but to move to northern central Spain for my climate. Ah well, nothing wrong with that.

It's lucky that my ideal climate can be found a day's drive away. Although at times that can also add to frustration, lol.

You should post here more often... we could always use more cold-lovers here.
I definitely like the cold more than heat. If it was never more than 65f again I would be very happy. Just don't go lower than 30f.

I just moved from Boston to Toronto, where the summers are just hell. It's a few degrees cooler on average, but it's so much more humid here, it feels like I'm on the gulf coast. A dewpoint of 70f is basically the average in the summer. People automatically assume it's cold here all year. Definitely not.

In the winter, the temperature often goes lower here than it does in Boston. But the cold just doesn't feel as biting as it does in the northeast. The average snow accumulation is similar, but it's unlikely Toronto will pick up 4 feet in one night.

I love to step outside, bundled up in layers, and feel a cold wind. Especially if it's dark out. That's what puts me in a good mood.

Sunlight, heat, yuck. I get so depressed. I will do whatever it takes to make my bedroom dark and sleep as much as possible during the summer months.

There has to be some biological explanation for this kind of thing.

I don't think that Toronto is significantly more humid than Boston. Both cities have a summertime mean dew point around 60 degrees F with an average daily high dew point around 65F. I have attached the dew point graphs for both cities below. Perhaps you feel that Toronto is more humid because this particular summer has been hell over the entire Northeast, including Toronto.

But yes, I would agree with you that both cities have quite an uncomfortable summer, with dew points capable of reaching 70F several times per year.

I second that! Even more so because I have plans to build big cities in Alaska.
