Those ranges must have some secret forcefield that falters every now and again when a storm/front comes through. I'm closer to the ranges and they don't even reach me. Did you guys get the 2011 christmas storms?

One of the most epic and legendary storm outbreaks in history. SE Melbourne. Never to be repeated I am sure. Lightning all night christmas eve and then Christmas day... well that was just beyond epic and legendary.

Nope...during the 2011-2012 winter, it hardly snowed in our region, except maybe once.

My area was right in the damn middle. Never seen hail that large, I was excited

Apparently there was even a small tornado nearby, and tornado warnings were forecast. It was so weird.

Lmao

The storms in Melbourne that I'm referring to were crazy. Our first white christmas. I remember playing cricket with the hailstones afterwards

I wish airlines would let you book a flight for advance with a deposit and then pay up. Flights are always really cheap in advance but for me i've got to save the money.

Most of the time I end up taking crappy connections etc due to waiting to last minute.

I'm kind of bored/tired of my job. :/ Of course I do it because I need the income.....but I'm thinking about looking elsewhere or going to school for a trade perhaps. I think I'm just getting bored with life in general.....I probably need to make some sort of change.

It's surreal. Even places half an hour away see significantly more lightning than Lexington. We are basically a stability hole.

What trade? If I had to do something like that, I'd be a machinist or a welder, for sure.
