Forecasts are saying up to 36C next week!

0-24C today and 2-27C Tomorrow. Don't feel the cold mornings inside, this boat is well insulated.

You certainly got that right.

The five dreaded months of summer down here is just 5 days from ending, and then the seven months of my Happy Season begins.

The rain, the clouds, the somewhat cool temps are really setting the mood too - my kind of fall weather.

Can you tell the difference in sunlight on videos?

Hmm.. perhaps not a very good example. I'll watch those videos (looks like they're from ChrisRoadWarrior? ) ... but my initial impression from the still frames is that the road surface in the FL video is more reflective, so it does immediately seem sunnier. But in any case, sun intensity will depend greatly on time of day, cloud cover, time of year, altitude (obviously not a factor here), etc. Latitude is only one factor - but of course, lower latitude means greater (peak) sun intensity.

I guess I'm much less tolerant of warm weather. I wouldn't say my "Happy Season" beings until late October. For the sake of convenience, I'd say I have only five happy months: November through March. Even within that time-span, some undesirable weather can happen. I see October and April as transition months. So both will have some weather I find desirable as well as some weather I find undesirable.

But I like October more than April for several reasons... the sun is not as strong is one. The fall feeling another. Halloween is yet another, of course. Pumpkin spiced beer is also worthy of mention. Football and hockey are back (also what I like about November). But really, I also really like October (and by extension, late September) because the weather is GETTING BETTER and we have only good weather ahead of us for quite a few months. On the other hand, in April (and by extension, late March), the weather is getting worse, as is in the sun, and I begin to get the feeling of dread of what's coming, and the feeling of holding on to the last remaining days of enjoyably cool weather.
