Well, I'm sure they ask the same when we get r 90 F weather in March. I don't see what's absurd about it.

Plenty of people (I'd wager most) worldwide live in a place where 90F is possible in march. Only a small fraction live in a place where you can get EIGHT inches of snow in September. It just amazes me how people can deal with weather like that!

They are just south of Artic Circle at 65N,its not uncommon..

Only 4 September's had more snow than they do this yr. Not common to get this much.

September snow is far from uncommon in Fairbanks though. My argument wasn't that eight inches of snow isn't impressive, I just wasn't agreeing with AJ that must be sooooo difficult to live there. But yes eight inches is a lot for Fairbanks in September

That is an amazing event. Last fall was the highest snow extent on record for North America. Last September the most snow on record for NA as well.

I'm going to go ahead and blame it on the hottest year ever.
