North of England very low generally though ,Manchester in the 1300s too

London is around 1600 generally ,Ipswich where i am is 1680

No where in the midlands or north of England at inland sites have i ever heard of anything much above 1400
We get 1573 hours annually here in York. So a bit more than 1400, and like I said, similar to London.
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/w...mate/gcx4kb837 now closed site, around ten miles south of York.

York and Lincoln seem to be the exception to the rule for the north ,the poorer performers are definitely over in Lancs ,York and Lincoln both low in rainfall too but chilly summers .

from the met office

Yes Jakobs ,Stavanger is interesting - slightly more extreme than NE Scotland in temps , sunnier than NE Scotland but more rain as well

1265 hours for Leeds - what a crock of sh*te, lol. Leeds Bradford Airport doesn't even record sunshine! Those figures are taken from Bradford's official Met Office station and have no bearing on Leeds whatsoever. Bradford is a lot wetter and cooler year-round.

Anywhere east of the Pennines will be much sunnier and drier than places west.

Leeds and Bradford spitting distance imo

Stavanger not a million miles off Carlisle Jakobs climatewise

The north west of England definitely belongs in the S/West Norwegian category i would say ,also Manchester closer to Torshavn than Brighton for sunshine hours it should be noted - so we could be heading in a Faroe Islands direction here if we're not careful

London pretty much the same as North east France bar the shouting
