Yeah, pretty typical from peak to bare is quick, but from green to bare can vary. I thought after a record warm September we would at least have leaves till mid November.

So I think the hard freeze did contribute. We didn't have a big storm but we did have rain and 25mph wind gusts on October 28-29 but the leaves were weak and dropping by then anyway. So that did help thin things out but there were still leaves around 10 days ago.

The past 7 days I saw a substantial difference in the dropping being more of and without much wind. Ironic it was near record warm past 7 days.

We've had about two or three wind events that have sped up the defoliation of near peak, peak, and past peak trees. Our fall foliage is a far cry from New England's but even this year was pretty crappy by our standards, still isn't over yet though.

Some from the end of last week during the warm spell. Taken a half hour before solar noon. What?! There's valley fog still lingering. Can't see any roads or towns from this fire tower:

Hazy shape rising above the valley fog is Mt. Mondonack. Cell phone lens is too wide to show up well. Clear in the opposite direction:

See Mt. Mondonack?

sun angle felt low even at noon, compared to a couple of months ago

===============================

next morning wasn't sunny but mild (mid 50s soon after sunrise)

Oldest house I've seen in the area, at least that has a year sign. Built 1718. Sporting a much more modern election sign. That tree in front of it is huge, I wonder if it's as old as the house. Tree can't be good for the house, its roots must be at the house foundation. And if it falls... There's a small dairy behind it, but I couldn't tell if it was by that house or a neighboring house. Area was settled in the mid to late 1600s but maybe the first houses were too rudimentary to still be standing.

Cool. And that shows most of the drop was after the rain and wind we had. Past 10 days has been really fast. My roof cam will show it. I need to grab some pics from the card

Took a short drive up to Overlook Park on the shore of Lake Jesup

Clifton Spring...I was expecting the water to be green, as seen here.

Looks almost wintry, but certainly didn't feel like it

Drizzly, unsettled late afternoon today in Tartu, between 3:30pm and 4 pm, standard weather for this time of the year here.

About 4 pm, it is getting darker already:

A few cell phone pics from Granada, Spain. The weather was about 25/7 °C and cloudless during my trip.

My friend lives in the inner city, I like the small alleyways there:

On the way to Albaycin, the old Arab-neighborhood:

Snow on the Sierra Nevada:

The only place where it is allowed to drink alcohol in the public. It was a crazy night.

Alhambra gate:

Buildings along the main avenue:

Very pretty city. I liked the old streets section, too. Sadly, didn't get a chance to explore the Albaycin. Was there an event going on that night?
