The Caucasus is diverse ethnically, linguistically, topographically, and climatically. The Caucasus here will be defined by the countries of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and the Russian Federal subjects of Krasnodar Krai, Stavropol Krai, and the republics of Adygea, Karachay–Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia–Alania, Ingushetia, Chechnya, and Dagestan. So which of these climates do you find most pleasing, and conversely least pleasing.
Baku looks really good and I took it over Nakhchivan in the poll but I probably would take Nakhchivan now that I actually took a little closer at them both. Batumi didn't look bad either but it gets way too much rain, and the others could use sunnier winters and they'd all be good to decent.
Gyumri is the only one on the list which has a decent climate.
My favorite climate from the Caucasus would probably be Ardahan. It's in Turkey which is not in the list of places you mentioned, but it's only a few km from the Georgian border.
sorry about that Shalop but that is very interesting climate but I personally find the lows to low throughout the year, even in summer, if the daily mean was the average low than I might consider it, and even than the winter is way too dark. Seattle winters are even a bit too dark for me and Ardahan is even worse. But then again there is snow so that always lightens things up.
Yerevan's a great climate. Cold, snowy but short winters and hot, dry, sunny summers.
Sochi is far too wet, Novorossiysk is much better even if its winters look a bit British. Krasnodar surely gets more than 11cm of snow a year, given those winter temps and precipitation.
Vladikavkaz is strange, I wouldn't expect to find Chinese-type climates round there. Why is there such a difference in rainfall between Baku and Astara though?
