For those here who love snow in the winter, which climate do you choose:

Flagstaff, AZ

or

Toronto, ON

Hmmm! Though Flagstaff receives much snow I prefer Toronto because snowpack lasts longer there and generally I really like Toronto 's climate. It has everything I want.

Toronto. All those high elevation Western US climates with annoyingly mild average highs in winter are overrated from a real cold and snow lovers point of view. Though I would take Alma, CO over Toronto any day.

I like the whole package of Flagstaff more (more sun, less summer humidity) but I'll go with Toronto for the better winter.

It's interesting that the snow lovers are mostly choosing the place that gets less annual snowfall

Well, what good is snow if melts in a few days? I want snow all winter. I'd choose Winnipeg over Denver even though Denver gets more snowfall. Kind of like a quality vs quantity thing.

I don't think Flagstaff's snow would melt that fast... I think it would mostly have a mostly continuous snowpack for most of the winter at least as much as in Toronto I'd think becausw even if more snow melts, there is more than twice the amount on the ground to begin with and it's not like Toronto doesn't get plenty of thaws during the winter anyway with daytime highs close to freezing.

I think the snowpack in Toronto would be much more reliable though. The mean temp in Toronto especially areas away from Lake Ontario is much colder than Flagstaff. Also Toronto being at a higher latitude than Flagstaff means the sun is weaker so less melting just from sheer sun. Also, Flagstaff being at 7,000' in elevation means the UV Index is probably through the roof.

In all honesty Toronto is still too mild for me though.

Flagstaff. At least it tends to get "warm" winter days and abundant sunshine. Toronto is too gloomy and cold in the winter.

Despite choosing the snowier place, I'm not even a snow lover.
