This thread amuses me. We haven't seen the sun since I cannot remember when and they get a little rain up north and a thread appears about the soaker storm. We are already soaked. I was wearing sandals Sunday and as I stepped on the rug in front of our door, I believe water came into the bottom of my shoe. I came inside and took them off to dry them and my feet. Our grass is going to be hay before it gets dry enough for the riding mower to drive across our yard.

Pittsburgh 2.24" so far but check out other areas of PA and Ohio. No wonder why there was local flooding. Now imagine getting 6"+ in such short time.

Raining here and you can feel the tropicalness of it. Atmosphere loaded with moisture

Funny you should mention how much snow all our rain would be. My husband mentioned that very thing today. And we are in the red and yellow and not the purple.

This looks like a sure flood for anyone along the Yadkin/PeeDee River. That will cause flooding all the way to Edisto Island. I will get you a map.

Our ground is already saturated. I don't like the looks of that.

First things first as the title says "storms"..

Storm #1 formed along the front overnight... Currently over PA.

2.05" of rain here overnight. There was some intense stuff. Wow.

Freezing temps in WI & MN. 70s along coast adding to the warmest September data on record..
Heavy rains in New England now.

wide rain bands from the cold front. Aren't summer cold fronts typically narrower?

I noticed that too that the fronts outside Summer are wider. Assuming it has something to do with air, aloft and water temps?

Ok.. just checked... Here's a quick summary of Joaquin.....

Latest 3 Main OP models. GFS, Euro, and Canadian...

The Euro stands alone in the OTS solution. GFS & Canadian have the hurricane hit between NC and DE.

If the Euro goes towards the others solution this afternoon, Heads Up

Heres the 5am map from NHC. They finally have it curving west towards U.S. Max sustained winds around the center at 70mph now. Will become a Hurricane today maybe by the 11am update
