here it is 40% 100% bare, 40% past peak/peak with many leaves, 20% green. upcoming few nights will probably speed up the remaining green deciduous trees transition. I was in charlotte past 2 days and its interesting to see the difference in the forests there versus here, charlotte is more deciduous and a larger portion of their deciduous trees are bare, I would say maybe 50 % bare 30% past peak and 20% green. also on the highway it was interesting to see the transition in forests, by the time you reach Burlington NC most trees are deciduous, and you start seeing pines that aren't seen in Raleigh such as Virginia pine. eastern white pine you start seeing by the time you reach high point NC. after high point the percentage of pines starts climbing again and by the time you are in charlotte it becomes a 50/50 ratio between pine/evergreens and deciduous trees. east of Burlington NC the trees are mostly pine and by the time you enter wake county its around 65 percent pine trees with another 10 percent of trees non-pine evergreen trees . nc is truly the pine state.

well lush summer green no I think I have a few pic on my phone if not ill get some tomorrow. the lush green trees are gone but light green/ yellowish trees to moderate greens yes there are still some. just checked my phone the only pics of trees I have taken are of a couple evergreen trees I don't know what they are ill post them if I can figure out how. ill take some pics of green deciduous trees tomorrow. but yeah there are some green deciduous trees still in Raleigh mostly large oak trees and other species of trees I don't know the names of .
I'll also give him the challenge of naming one evergreen angiosperm native to Raleigh.
im not a tree expert but why not ill take you up on that challenge just give me few minutes of google searching lol. only one I know from the top of my head is southern magnolia. we actually have quite a few angiosperms but I don't know their names.

Only problem is southern magnolia isn't native to Raleigh. Coastal NC, yes. Raleigh, no. Naturalization might be possible if enough people have planted them.

I see quite a few growing in Raleigh just assumed they were natural here. interesting, I need to read up some more on my tree species and what not.
here is the tree I was talking about alex this was yesterday down in charlotte I know its evergreen but don't know what it is. any ideas?
