I mean you take 8 even 8:30 sunrises over 4:30 sunsets?

Omg that'd be horrible lol. I guess I'm just used to the dark mornings, but I'd much rather spend that extra hour of daylight out and about in the afternoon/evening instead of at work in the morning where it's a waste.
LOL. I consider evening light to be a waste, since I never go anywhere after 4 pm on weekdays, and weekends too for that matter, since I like do to things early in the day as opposed to late. The main purpose of DST is to avoid silly stuff like 4:30 am sunrises in summer, not to promote 8 am sunrises in winter, imo.

I would, 8 AM is awfully late for a sunrise, but I don't think it'd be worse than a sunset before 5 PM.

I too like to get things out of the way early on, but I like to enjoy the entire day, and I love late sunsets. Didn't they recently increase the length of DST? I'd like it if they did a trial of year long DST, maybe it wouldn't be so bad (or good, for that matter).

Yeah, they increased the length of DST in 2007. The thing is, they were supposed to analyse whether it was beneficial or not, and they never did.

If the US ever went to year-round DST, I bet Georgia and a few other states (like Michigan and Indiana) would opt out of it totally.

Speaking of Trump, I was mostly amused that there's an actual Massachusetts town named "Tyngsborough" — thought for a second it was meant to be a parody of a Massachusetts town name.

The dozens of people wearing Trump’s now iconic red hat are not ironic Somerville hipsters, they’re deeply worried working class people from outside Route 128 who genuinely believe the slogan embroidered on their heads.

So there people actually wearing the slogan ironically? As I said, I've been rather tempted myself. I did see a black guy in Union Square, Manhattan wearing a Trump T-shirt; I assume ironically.

How large is the zone? One plus is the city center will be quiet instead being overwhelmed by traffic noise. What happens to residents in the zone who own cars?
