Jesus didn't exist, I and many others celebrate Christmas purely for the festive side of it. I don't believe in any of that crap, even around here hardly anyone recognizes it as a religious festival any more. Church attendances are at record low levels and falling all the time, about time IMO.

Pretty much everything people celebrate and enjoy about Xmas is from the winter solstice celebration rather than the birth of an imaginary undead carpenter.

1. I am not saying one thing or the other regarding Jesus's historicity. I do think both possibilities (that he existed or that he did not exist) are strongly possible.

2. Either way, Jesus has very little to do with xmas's origins. I could say something more generic, like winter solstice celebration, but that's a bit lame, and didn't really fit my ranting style anyway. And the relatively esoteric name Pagan name even less so.

3. Not just social, but familial.

Oh my god it does my head in that Americans can't accept criticism! I'm pissed off now! I've stopped posting in the UK forum because every ****ing time I say something about their country they come down on me like a tonne of bricks!!

Apparently according to them British people are louder and Americans aren't loud at all. Yeah what a load of ****, go down any street in America and then compare it to the UK! It is MUCH louder there, you can actually hear what they are saying there.

For **** sake. You're country isn't the best at everything. Fricking delusional idiots.

All the cars had windows down yesterday and had an inch of torrential rain and hail in them. Nobody was here, so they got totally soaked.

Got them drying out now, but the horn on one must have shorted, and started blaring non stop until I disconnected it.

More drama on Netweather!!

Just seen reports of Blood Rain and smog to affect Britain over the next few days. Obviously a mix of Sahara Dust and moisture at elevation, temps 10c above normal. Good God, Western Europe looks like breaking all records for December warmth. No white Christmas for much of Austria this year again. During the period 1961-85, most of lowland Austria chances of a white was 70%, now its half that value. Something has drastically changed during the past 30 years. Poorly Blighty, your chances of a lowland white Christmas now almost zero. More Cesspit weather seems the norm now for you. Crazy, get out!

To be honest, I don't know what an average winter is like down there but it was crazy to be fair when I was there over the past few weeks.

But here/Scotland this is another generalisation. We have had I think 4 white christmas in the last 10 years so it's not that rare.

I think we are going to get hit bad soon. This weather cannot go on much longer, it's WAY above normal. Far higher than I ever thought possible.
